For more than 90 years, Boy Scouts of America is a youth development organization. Based in Safford, Ariz., the organization serves approximately 2.8 million young people between 7 through 20 years at more than 290 councils throughout the United States. It provides a program for young people that builds character trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness. The council performs surveys on youth, volunteers and club scout parents from time-to-time on various issues. Boy Scouts of America offers programs, such as Cub Scouting, Varsity Scouting, Boy Scouting and Venturing programs, including summer camp activities for healthy youth development.
