Provided by YP.comWent to Mac’s last night to have my company Christmas party.
I’m a small business owner with four employees. I thought Mac’s would be a great place for me to treat my guys to dinner and drinks.
When I arrived with my wife the guys had already been there a while.
They were drinking beer and I asked if we had a waiter/waitress.
The guys told me that they had spoken to a waiter but told him they would hold off on menus until my wife and I arrived.
My wife and I sat there watching the wait staff move back and forth without acknowledging us at all. I asked the guys who brought their beers? They said they had to go to the bar every time that’s why all of the empties were sitting on the table. I continued to wait and be ignored. Five minutes turned into ten and I told the guys “lets go.”
They left their beers and we headed off down the road where another establishment was more than happy to take my $300.00.
This is not the first time I’ve experienced invisibility at Mac’s.
The place has a nice atmosphere and good drinks but they are missing the most important component of the dinner and drink experience.
Make the customer feel good. Make them feel like they matter, after all they are your lifeblood. I understand being busy. In most cases you can defuse a problem with a nod or a gesture that indicates “I see you. Thanks for coming in and I’ll be with you shortly.”
This is not the first time I’ve walked out of Mac’s but it is the last.

Provided by YP.comWould have given this bar 4-5 stars...
I left my card there overnight after ordering a single shot of fireball which couldn't have been more than $4. I assumed they had a $10 minimum like most establishments, so I wasn't surprised that my card was ran for $10 when I went back to get it the next day. I signed the slip and didn't leave a tip because I figured the extra $6 they charged me would cover it. As I was walking out, the female bartender, I think her name was Lonnie, rudely yelled to me "No tip for watching your card all night?" I told her I only ordered one drink and was charged $10 -- she looked at me and said "so, still no tip?" I thought it was rude she would call me out when she wasn't even my bartender the night before, and for that reason I won't be returning. Better bars in old town to spend my money at.
