The Saginaw Police Department provides law enforcement services, promotes public safety and protects the rights and property of residents in Saginaw, Mich. The administrative division is responsible for the overall planning, direction and coordination of all police department activities. The patrol operations division oversees the division's three shifts and traffic section. It also provides administrative support to the K-9 unit, the motorcycle unit, the emergency services unit, the police reserve unit, the police cadet program and the police explorers program. The investigation division follows up on criminal complaints and obtains the evidence needed for prosecution. It also oversees the gang task force, the fugitive warrant team and the property crimes task force. The Saginaw Police Department conducts its operations from its headquarters in Saginaw.
