My brother in law has been at SSH of Saginaw for the past 6 weeks. Overall, most staff have gone above and beyond to meet his expectations even when he was being uncooperative. The staff has been very attentive and informative regarding the treatments they are providing and providing me with constant updates when I am unable to be here. They couldn't be more supportive and have not given up on him in spite of the complicated medical issues he has. Even the administration has been in very close contact with me almost daily to assure that any concerns are being addressed. I would definitely recommend this hospital to those I know and love if they should need it.

Provided by YP.comThe service here was phenomenal. They have taken care of me in every way that I could want. My care team communicated well with me. I had never heard of Select Specialty Hospital - Saginaw before my stay here. I came from McLaren Northern Michigan because this is the closest facility that could meet my needs. Dr. Khan was really nice and she really knew her stuff. Jessica RN was very friendly and was always happy with a positive demeanor which made a huge difference for me. I've had such a great outcome that I am not getting back closer to home. Overall this hospital is fantastic.

Provided by YP.comI came down to Select Specialty Hospital - Saginaw from MidMichigan Medical Center Alpena as this is the closest long term acute care hospital to Northern Michigan. While I wish I wasn't so far from home the staff here were very courteous. They always introduced themselves and explained what they were doing while caring for me. This built trust and set expectations which helped me understand my care. Mary the Wound Care Nurse was out of this world - she did more for me in 4 weeks than I have experienced in years! Overall this hospital was great, they did a great job of keeping me clean as I had a shower or hand bath every day. The linens and room was very clean and even the menu was good! And I can't forget the care provided to me by my doctors. I didn't have a prior relationship with any of them, but they treated me like I had been in their care for years. Thank you to everyone, I would definitely recommend Select Specialty Hospital - Saginaw!

Provided by YP.comIf only I could give Select Care Zero stars I would. Worst experience in a hospital ever. The care they had given to my family member was absolutely horrid.
Please... please search and select different care, For you're loved ones or yourself other than select care.

Provided by YP.comFor the first time in years I have the hope of getting my life back!….my pulmonary health has not been good for a very long time so this was not my first stay at SSH of Saginaw. I cannot say enough good about their entire staff! When I was having a bad day, nurses took the time to listen to me and made me feel so much better. The staff made me laugh and I will truly miss them and have promised to come back but ONLY FOR A VISIT! This is not to say that everything was perfect throughout my entire stay but that is to be expected. Call lights could have been answered a little more quickly and I feel like stronger pain medications than Tylenol would have helped to control my pain more. There was only one nurse and one doctor that I did not like so if they were out of the equation, this hospital could not be any better! Lastly, I would like to thank Select for finding me a new pulmonology team! They are AMAZING and I now have the hope of living a longer and much healthier life now that they are on my case! This team of pulmonologists (Dr. Kanjwal, Dr. Kambali, Alex Anderson, PA-C and Shawna Nievierowski) took the time to review ALL of my medical records and discovered the underlying issue that had been causing me to be rehospitalized and now we have a plan to get this corrected! I have to say that I felt as though they knew me better than my pulmonologist that has been treating me for years! He had told me that my lungs would only last a couple of more years! I am a young grandmother and that has been a heavy weight on my heart. However, my new team told me to put those statements right out of my mind because they have a surgery that I will be able to undergo that will allow me to watch my grandchildren grow up! I am forever grateful! A huge thank you to Select Specialty Hospital for listening to my concerns and asking this group of pulmonologists to take on my case! If you or any one you know is in need of specialty care like I was, I would recommend this hospital.

Provided by YP.comIf I could give select zero stars I would. Very little compassion from anyone. The call button was pointless as it was rarely answered. I agree totally with "Huskey's" review. It was exactly what we experienced. The facility was unorganized and unsanitary. The "nurses" with the exception of one or two were rude and complained about their jobs. I was relieved when my dad was moved to covenant Healthcare down the road. He has improved by leaps and bounds in a few short days.

Provided by YP.comMy experience at Select Specialty Hospital has been great! Everyone I have come into contact with has been very thoughtful and kind. They listen carefully to what I say to them. I have had several staff members who have gone above and beyond for me! A special thanks to charge nurse, James. And thank you to the CNO, Shannon, for the trip outside and great conversation. It was so awesome to feel the fresh air and hear the birds. The therapy staff is awesome as well. They get me motivated for the day!! And Sarde brings me my apple juice cocktail each night! I cannot thank all of you enough!

Provided by YP.comThis hospital continuously violated my mother's rights. They also almost killed her with a medicine they were administering and, after we brought the bad drug interaction to their attention they gave it to her again. The hospital stifled her desire to make decisions of medical and legal nature though they had no right to do so. The doctors follow the business above their medical responibilities. The hospital is under equipped. Only 3 cardiac chairs for The entire hospital. They let q woman die and her family grieve while my mother laid in a bed next to her. They weren't going to allow us in to ur with mom while this was happening but we insisted. Some of the staff are very rude and have no qualmes about telling you falsehoods if they think it is what you want to hear or fits their legal and operational needs. She also contracted several infections here. they are slow to respond and we had to take upon routine nursing tasks. I believe she was in danger here. No physical therapy on the weekends and other types of care slow to a snail pace. I would avoid select specialty hospital at all costs.

Provided by YP.comI couldn't believe how unprofessional the staff was in many ways. The attitude was horrible! When a patient pushes the call button, he is lucky to get somebody in about 20-30 minutes, since often the staff is too busy talking in the hall. Can't speak for everyone there, but what I saw mainly, was just "doing the job" and "following the protocol" thing (which they don't follow actually). Didn't see much of teamwork there, staff gets hired from here and there, there is obvious lack of medical equipment, like cardiac chairs, they have not a single portable ventilator, etc. To put it mildly, - I would NOT recommend this hospital to anybody.
