The Slammer & Squire has hosted six nationally televised events since opening in spring 1998, including Shell s Wonderful World of Golf and the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf, a Champions Tour Event. This 6,939-yard resort course, with magnificent views of the Hall s stately tower, preserves the woodlands, wetlands and natural beauty of the area. The Slammer & Squire, along with the entire World Golf Village Complex, was designed to honor the great game of golf, its players, history and future. Designed by Bobby Weed with player consultants Sam "The Slammer" Snead and Gene "The Squire" Sarazen, this course preserves the pristine unspoiled wooded area, wetlands and natural beauty of the region. It is a challenging layout that does not unfairly penalize the inexperienced player.
