Stay away from this company, Joe the owner is a joke. The guy has had at least 1 court case against him each year for poor or incomplete work. Not only is he non responsive, he will take your money, and then after he starts a job, he will screw it up, then tell you how you need to pay more to fix it. Check out your local county circuit court websites in your area, and this guy is all over them. Horrible businessman, and just a horrible person to the core. Do not do business with this guy, you've been warned.

Color Stone is the worst contractor I have every worked with. We signed a $4,722 contract in August of 2013 for stamped concrete overlay around our pool. The owner, Joseph Scalise, required a 50% deposit and promised to start the job soon. In November, he finally started the job and required another payment - 40%. All he did was acid wash the old concrete. Never came back that year and refused to return our money, saying that we would be his first customer in 2014. Well, that was not true either. When he finally started the work, on two different occasions he claimed that the original approach would not work and the new approach would cost more. If we did not pay, he could not warranty the work. We paid almost double the original contracted price. The work was not done until after the July 4th Holiday and ended up costing $7322. We researched lawsuits on the Cook County Clerk Of the Circuit Court website, as well as DuPage County and Kane County, and discovered bankruptcies and many lawsuits against this company. I spoke to one of those suing Color Stone. He won the lawsuit and Joe agreed to pay only if nothing was posted on the Internet! In 2015, the concrete around our pool was seriously cracked and damaged. We called Joe in March and he promised to come and fix it. Well, It's July, and in spite of many phone calls to Joe and many promises, he has not come to fix his work. He is not honoring his warranty. Heed my warning and do not have anything to do with this contractor.
