Delivery Kurtz Turf Farm serves the entire St. Louis area. We can deliver as little as 100 sq. yards up to 12000 sq. yards on our semi-truck. The sod is unloaded with our truck-mounted forklift so we can spot the pallets where you want them so that the customer doesn?t have to carry the sod farther than necessary. Typically only a one-day notice is all that we need to ensure prompt service. Installation If installing your sod yourself is not an option we can provide professional installation for you. We have the expertise to ensure that your sod is installed properly. Great care is given to ensure that your yard is properly graded and prepared before installation. After the sod is laid, we roll, fertilize and apply initial watering. Any mess that is made from sod installation will be cleaned up before we leave. Upon completion we will give you all of the information you will need to keep your sod looking as good as the day it was installed. We provide free estimates so don?t hesitate to give us a call. Picked Up Customers can pick up sod directly from our farm. The sod can either be loaded piece by piece into a pick-up truck bed (A full size pick-up truck can usually haul between 60-80 sq. yards) or entire 60 sq. yard pallets can be loaded on to your trailer with our forklift. Make sure to bring the necessary tarp and straps to secure the sod. See the home page for a map to our farm.

We couldn't be happier with our new lawn! When we purchased this house a year ago, we knew we wanted to replace the lawn. Kurtz folks were professional and hard working. They even knew how to adjust our sprinkler system for optimal watering of our new lawn. It's so beautiful. We couldn't be happier.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I ordered 140 square yards of sod from this company. When I went to pick it up on a Saturday we determined that I would only be able to take slightly more than half of it on the first load. I was going to pay for the amount that was loaded, but was told that they would load the rest on Sunday morning. I agreed to pay for the entire order. I called the company at 9:30 on Sunday morning and left a message to ask when it would be convenient for me to pick up the order remaining order. I was told that someone had already been out at the sod farm earlier in the morning and that I would now have to pick up the load manually. I explained to them that was not possible as I was nearly 60 years old and didn't have the strength to do that. What I don't understand is why they didn't tell me yesterday that there were time restrictions to picking up the order or why they didn't call me to tell me of any time restrictions. How long does it take to load a pallet.

Had 3 guys on the clock scheduled to move 13 yrds of topsoil for a customer of ours. The dirt was to be there at 9am. They got there at 11am. Customer was paying guys to stand around. The homeowner was stressed out, no one would answer the phone when they tried to call Kurtz. Finally got lady on the phone, she said she was the owner. She didn't care one bit that anyone else was inconvenienced. wouldn't knock money off for them or apologize. Excuses...well the only correct excuse is that it wasn't scheduled properly.

I will admit that I'm extremely OCD when it comes to our lawn. When we moved into the house in 2005, the lawn was okay, but full of weeds and not very plush. After 7 years of hard work, I had a very plush, green Fescue lawn. Unfortunately, this summer, creeping bent grass took over a major portion of it, which required a Roundup treatment and a complete overhaul of the affected area.

Since it took me so long to get things established the first time around, I was looking for a quick solution to get my lawn back to my high standards. Fortunately, I found Dan at Kurtz Turf Farm. He was so easy to deal with and this is by far the highest quality sod I've ever seen!

What I love about Kurtz Turf Farm is that I can call Dan and he will have cut what I need within a couple of hours of my phone call (in one case within 45 minutes). The sod is as absolutely fresh as one can get. I pull my F150 right up to the sod field and Dan loads a pallet into the truck bed full of fresh cut sod. I pay him right there - can it get any fresher!!!

The Fescue sod is so plush and goes down so easy since it's so thick. Of course, like any other project, it's all about the prep. With that being said, the part of the lawn I replaced looks magnificant. In fact, I am so pleased with the sod, I am tempted to tear up the rest of the established lawn and re-sod with Kurtz Turf as it is just so nice.

For anyone that cares, here is a picture of the area replaced after 2 weeks after Roundup was applied to kill the Creeping Bent Grass:

Here is a picture of the area after the old sod had been completely removed and starter fertilizer along with compost was worked into the topsoil with a tiller:

Finally, here is the area with the new sod:

I could not be happier with the product, the business and the staff at Kurtz Turf Farm! Thanks Dan!

Would not recommend!!! I too experienced a lack of the company answering the phone and returning phone calls. Phone # (636) 970-9140. When Dan did return my call, an appointment for an afternoon delivery was set for the next day Saturday 06/29/2013 (very nice, I thought). However, they were a no call no show!!!! Left two messages that Saturday and again on Monday 07/01/2013, no return call. Poor customer service. Thankfully I didn't lose any money by taking off work waiting for the sod that never got delivered.

I almost NEVER take the time to post reviews, but I had such a great experience that I had to. Dan Kurtz was friendly, very knowledgeable and responsive. His price was very reasonable and he delivered to my driveway on short notice. The sod was the thickest, healthiest, best sod I've ever seen. I laid the backyard myself but had sod left over so I called Dan to ask if his guys could come help lay the front yard. They worked me in the same day. Showed up after their scheduled job and stayed until well after dark to help me get it done. Went way above and beyond the call of duty. I've already referred one friend and will refer more. Regarding the review saying phone calls are not returned....Dan recently split from another business & the phone # listed on Google and YP is not the correct phone #. The correct # is 636-970-9140. I highly recommend Kurtz Turf Farm.
