Refused to see this tiny kitten we found that is literally having a seizure... Then every place they referred us refused to help it as well.

Avoid Dr. Branson at all costs! When my black lab Rambo was dying in 2009, I called All Creatures Animal Hospital to see if they could come to my house and put him down. Dr. Branson refused, saying I needed to bring him in for tests! Rambo lapsed into a coma and died later that day. I have never known such a lack of compassion for animals. This woman does not deserve to have a licensee to practice.

Over the last several years ...

Over the last several years I've lived in Saint Joseph, MO, I have always received excellent service at All Creatures Animal Hospital. The staff are all very caring and friendly. Recently, our family had to say goodbye to our longtime companion and friend. Our little chihuahua was almost 18 years old. We had her since the day she was born and was a huge part of our lives. She went blind about seven years ago, but managed to adjust to her handicap. Recently though, we noticed that she wasn't eating well and her health was quickly declining. She was old, tired, and becoming more and more anxious. We made a family decision to euthanize her so that she could be free of suffering. Dr. Gutzmer came to our house to help us with that process. I had never gone through that with any of my pets before and I had many questions. Dr. Gutzmer was kind, compassionate, and he answered all of my questions without rushing. He gave our dog a tranquilizer to help her be calm and get sleepy. I held her in my arms as I watched her start to get sleepy. Then I lost it and started crying really bad. My husband helped me by holding her through the next step. We all stood around her as the doctor administered the last injection. He assured us all that she didn't feel any pain nor was she even aware of what was happening. For our peace of mind, he stayed with her and listened for her little heart to stop beating. As we all said goodbye and I cried, he assured me that we did the right thing, and that it was an act of kindness to stop her from suffering. He saw how upset I was and he even took the time to give me a hug. Then today, almost a week later, I received the nicest card with a handwritten note from Dr. Gutzmer, assuring me once again that we did the right thing, and that he knew that she was an important part of our family. He said he knew how much we would all miss her and that he was sorry for our loss. The card was signed by all his staff members. For Dr. Gutzmer to acknowledge what an important part of our lives she was and how much she meant to us means a lot to us. In our time of grieving the loss of a beloved family member, he showed our family much compassion. Dr. Gutzmer and his staff go above and beyond when it comes to knowing how to treat people and their pets. I will always be grateful for how they treated us and our pets. God bless Dr. Gutzmer and his staff. Thank you all so much.
