I bought a 2008 Suburban 2500 from Hilltop....My daughter plays softball throughout the spring and summer, which has us driving allot of miles on the weekends...owning this vehicle less than 3 months, but slightly over 3000 miles, we encountered engine trouble...Discussed this with our salesmen (who treated us great), who discussed this with his boss (Brandon, I believe), and hilltop agreed to fix this last issue, but have it done at a local shop...if the work was done right, I would be satisfied with the direction...the work was not done right; if fact I question if the work was done at all; the reasons for my beliefs; #1 the vehicle was ready a week ahead of time; in order for this to happen, someone had to work over a holiday weekend, which isn’t likely #2 I did this same job on my truck, and it is required to replace all of the exhaust manifold fasteners, and head bolts. I cannot see the head bolts, but the exhaust manifold fasteners are the original fasteners, so they were not replaced, and I am guessing they weren't even removed; this shows that the head was not removed, which is required to fix this particular problem #3 this same issue has been intermittent since the original issue; the vehicle is sitting idle in my driveway now... #4 I spoke with shop mechanic and he told me that hilltop would only replace the 1 bad lifter. which is fine, but the opportunity to replace the remaining lifters, while the head is removed, was never presented to me...a job done right would replace all lifters while the head is off, this would prevent any future problems; and replace the "one time use" fasteners, such as the exhaust manifold bolts...I could be happy with this vehicle, if the dealership stood behind the product that was sold to me; but spending $23-24,000 on a vehicle to act as a yard ornament is ridiculous...I would not recommend anyone to buy a vehicle here; and this will not be the only place that this comment will be posted...
