I will preface this by saying that my interactions have been with the jewelry department, but they definitely have NOT been helpful. I went after Christmas to exchange a watch. I was trying to exchange it for a watch being sold for less than the price of my watch. Because the watch I received had been on sale previously I was told I could exchange it for an item of the EXACT same price or receive credit for the sale amount (50% of it's retail). So I was told my only option was to exchange for exact same price or pay the difference- even though the watch I wanted cost less than the one I was exchanging. I ended up going to the Lawrence Kohls who had the same solution. However, they gave me the same discount on the watch I wanted as the discount that was applied to my credit. That way I didn't have to pay almost 50% for the same item. I tried going back to the St Jo location because one of the rhinestones fell out after a couple of months and I wanted to exchange it. They did not have the same watch and told me they would not order it. I could try to find it online and order it, pay out of pocket, and then exchange it. Or I needed to go to another store. I asked if they could call the nearest store to see if they had it before I went there, and the associate refused. She also refused to locate the nearest store for me. They are lazy and useless there. Heaven forbid a customer need some assistance because they act like it's an inconvenience to them. When I approached an associate and asked for some assistance I was told I was "going to need to wait, because (the associate) was busy" right then. When I called the Lawrence store they were extremely helpful, as the associates should be. And they are holding the item for me for 3 weeks until I can get down there for exchange. Someone needs to retrain the St Joseph employees, or the company needs to clean house.
