Sometimes you just can't beat ...

Sometimes you just can't beat the appeal of a hole-in-the-wall storefront restaurant. When you find one that works, you're almost guaranteed to have a culinary resource that few people know about. Ami's is just such a spot.

The wait staff is friendly without ever trying too hard. They make you feel at home and like a valued customer all at once.

Order anything and you will get a huge amount of food. Their rigatoni con broccoli is a creamy delight, while the pizza has a great chewy crust with the right amount of give and crunch.

Ami's has great, filling food you'll want to keep to yourself; but find that it's so tasty you just can't keep quiet about it.

Love the thin crust pizza

We come to Ami's every time we are in St. Louis. I highly recommend the thin crust Deluxe pizza. Crispy thin crust is great for those watching their carbs but want the splurge of pizza!

Very good pizza and a house dressing that you won't believe!!

Some friends told us about this place about 3 years ago. It's one of those places that people in the neighborhood know about, but few others. The three things I like about it are:

1) Their house salad dressing is amazing. I'm not a big salad person, but crave salad once in a while...and my favorite dressing by far is the house dressing at Ami's. We always ask for extra dressing and they bring it at no charge.

2) The place is rarely crowded except on Friday/Saturday nights around 6-7pm. The get a regular crowd on some nights, but we can usually walk in and sit down without much of a wait. So if we are in a hurry but don't want fast food, this is where we go.

3) We usually have pizza which is very good, regardless of whether you get deep, thick or thin. You can tell the ingredients are fresh...and it is a little like Chicago pizza. The other food is very good too, though I've only tried a couple of the pastas.

Don't tell too many people...I don't want to have to start waiting 30 minutes for a table!!
