Dr Ghazala Hayat provides evaluation and treatment of patients with neuromuscular disorders, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), peripheral neuropathies, painful sensory neuropathies, myopathies, neuromuscular junction disorders and demyelinating disorders. She also specializes in clinical neurophysiology, nerve conduction studies, electromyography, electroencephalograms, and spasticity and headaches.
She has many research interests, including NeuRx Diaphragm Pacing System® (DPS) in patients with ALS, and comparison of TCAs and SSRIs in depression in ALS patients.
Dr Hayat is a professor of Neuromuscular Diseases in the Department of Neurology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine.
