International Fuel Technology is involved in the development of unique fuel additive formulations. Its additives are non petroleum based, environmentally-friendly detergent substances known as surfactants. The technology underlining the company s fuel additives is based on surfactant chemistry, a complex mixture of chemical molecules which, when blended into distillates or gasoline, lowers the fuel's overall surface tension. The company has conducted extensive testing on several of its fuel blends that demonstrated an increase in fuel economy of up to seven percent, no loss of power or torque, an increase in fuel lubricity and a reduction in carbon dioxide.
