Founded in 1960 and located in St. Louis, Mathews-Dickey Boys & Girls Club is a nonprofit organization that provides various programs for more than 40,000 youths between the ages of 5 and 18. It provides homework assistance, tutoring and mentoring services for preschoolers and higher grade students. Mathews-Dickey Boys & Girls Club also conducts classes in math, English, language and arts. It prepares youths and adults for jobs through class training, field trips and internships. The organization s after-school program includes student assessment and computer and career development training. It offers summer day camps that include softball, basketball, volleyball and swimming. Mathews-Dickey Boys & Girls Club organizes seminars on the topics of self-esteem and cultural and leadership skills development. It also hosts baseball, volleyball and tennis tournaments.
