I went in for a state safety and emission inspection. Of course they find a steering problem. They gave me an outrageous quote but we're "willing to negotiate a lower price" after I called their bluff on it. I called 2 other places as soon as I left and they both gave quotes $300-400 cheaper. Also I had a slight (less than a cm) tear on a windshield wiper blade that failed inspection as well with them. Never going back.

Went there for tires a couple of times good prices and pretty good service on that but then again it don't take much smarts to do that. You can get good prices on tires anywhere. So I thought I'd try them on state inspections.

I have two cars one failed for front brakes the other for front wheel bearing. I let the brakes go and didn't question it cause I believed him. I should of went out and looked at them myself. Lesson learned. The next time I went there for my other car it failed for a front wheel bearing. So I went out and checked it for myself. Looked at the inspector and told him there's no way this should fail. He gave me some story about it being a bearing hub and shouldn't have any play and wouldn't change it his mind. So I went home and call the state troopers office the next day. Brakes are suppose to fail at less than 1/32 of an inch of pad left for bonded pads. I had about an 1/8th of a inch left on the pad. Wheel bearings are allowed 1/8 inch movement at the outer diameter of the wheel mine had way less than that. The state trooper didn't even have the inspector put an indicator on it to check the travel. He just felt it and told him it passes. Before you get an inspection do your homework check out the state motor vehicle inspection website. Make the inspector show you what failed and show you where it states that in the inspection handbook they should have one or bring it up on your smart phone before you get there and look it up and see for yourself. If not go home and look it up if you think it should of passed call your trooper office and ask them. Here in Missouri the state troopers run the inspection stations I don't know about other states. Good luck there's a lot of dishonest places out there

Saw a promo online and made appointment at local NTB (Affton, MO). Got there and they didn't have my tires even though online said the tires were in stock and I had an appointment a week in advance! Then they said they had no idea what promo I was talking about and tried to bait-and-switch to sell me a different package for an extra $250! On the TV screen behind the desk the promo I had originally requested kept scrolling across the screen, which I pointed out, and they suddenly remembered that they have the promo. They didn't call when the car was in the garage or when it was ready like they said they would. Eventually, I called to find out if it was ready, at which time they tried to tell me I need a new battery. My battery is only 4 days old!!! They clearly didn't even look at the battery or even pop the hood. I questioned them about all this and they just made excuses about how busy they are. Even if that is an excuse for not calling me, which it isn't, it is no excuse for the bait-and-switch or trying to sell me a battery I don't need. They are liars and scammers. Your stereotypical auto repair rip-off. Don't trust anything they say! Never going back again, even if I have to pay more somewhere else.

I've used the shop for certain things with no problems or years. In 2012 I had problems with them honoring their work on front rotors and the lifetime services. I had to come back every couple of months to turn the rotor. The 3rd time, within warranty, they refused to do anything about the front rotors unless they replaced the rear brakes and rotors, which they said were borderline. I declined and asked them to rotate the tires (under lifetime service). They refused, saying it needed to be at least 10,000 to 15,000 miles. Their previous recommendation was every 3,000 to 5,000. Even though it cost me, I went to another shop that properly fixed the front rotors. I will go to another NTB for the free services but not for new work and not again to this location.
