Provided by YP.comWell, the first time when I went there, about three weeks ago, they would have gotten 4 stars from me, because they seem to have a great variety of plants.
However, as I returned today for the second time, things did not turn out as nicely as they could have.
I bought some shrubs on my first time visit, raspberry and choke berry. The staff was friendly and all went well. The second time, (today July 9, 2015), it looked a little deserted, since no staff was to be seen. Once completely inside, there was a friendly lady, who helped me look for items and told me the fruit shrubs were now half price. Great! I picked two blueberries and one more raspberry bush. Then, inside, she told me that "the plants over in this section are all on a half-off sale, too". These were mostly annuals, and hanging arrangements. I pointed out two of them, she looked at the sticker and said, "half off of 23.00, so a great bargain". I decided I'd take two of those hanging baskets. Once at the check-out, the clerk there totaled it all up, and I noticed that she had not given me the half-off price of the hanging baskets. As I pointed that out to her, she explained that the baskets were only 5 $ off. This had me somewhat confused, so I repeated what the other employee had said. Then, an older man also joined in, and he mumbled something about "no it's not half price for those", and left. I asked to talk to the manager. The check-out lady called the owner, and it turned out to be the old man himself. I was wondering why he had not identified himself right away. So, once more, I explained what had occurred and asked him to honor what had been said about the half off sale. He refused to accept that. I told them to take the hanging baskets off my check and put them back.
I feel that this is very customer unfriendly. It is their responsibility to inform all their staff about pricing and if they are not briefed and say something wrong, the owner should just honor that. He obviously did not care in the least!
Suffice it to say that I will not return to buy anything there. Places like Bayer's Garden, would never do a thing like that. They would apologize and honor their commitment.
