The Department of Public Works operates to serve the people who visit, live, work, or play in St. Louis County. The department, a service division of St. Louis County Government, specializes in neighborhood preservation, residential-sewer lateral repair and residential water / service line repair. It also offers several services in building construction, land disturbance and inspecting zoning codes. Though its Neighborhood Preservation division, the department performs to protect against neighborhood deterioration and blight in the unincorporated areas of Saint Louis County.
