Louis DBT includes building a team of talented DBT therapists to serve ST. Louis. Casey limmer has become an authority on DBT in the ST. Louis area. Practicing the modality since 2002 and training directly with its creator. Marsha Linehan. PH. D. Casey teaches courses in applied behavior therapy. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and DBT AT washington university's Brown school of social work. SHE is one of only a handful of clinicians to achieve certification in DBT with the lineman board of certification. SHE trains and supervises ALL therapists in the PRACTICE. Our mission:

- We provide TOP quality behavioral therapy services including individual. Group. And Family therapy focused on enhancing distress tolerance. Emotion regulation. Mindfulness and interpersonal skills of OUR clients in the pursuit of living a life worth living. OUR therapists specialize in providing behavioral therapies. Including CBT. DBT. Prolonged exposure. And EMDR. In an WAY that is adherent to the treatment model. And tailored to meet the needs of each individual client. OUR team includes social workers and counselors WHO are dedicated to providing high quality. Effective services to individuals struggling with a variety of challenges. In addition to OUR licensed therapists. We have post-graduate fellows and graduate level interns WHO provide treatment to clients AT a reduced rate while receiving ongoing supervision to grow their EXPERTISE. INDIVIDUAL therapy is a chance for YOU to work ONE-ON-ONE with a licensed professional to delve into and address current struggles in your life. And to learn strategies for coping with these struggles in a healthy WAY. YOU typically will meet with your individual therapist once PER week for 50 minutes. Group therapy is a chance for YOU and a group of your peers to work with TWO licensed professionals for the purposes of acquiring NEW skills. Connecting with and learning from others WHO MAY share similar experiences. And healing from your struggles. Participating in group therapy CAN provide YOU with normalization around emotions. Thoughts. Or situations that YOU might BE experiencing. AS it is likely that other participants in your group have experienced similar things. Participants CAN learn from ONE Another. AS well AS from the licensed professionals leading the group. The main type of group offered AT ST. Louis DBT is a DBT skills group. This type of group is RUN like a class where the group leader teaches skills and practice exercises to help YOU USE the skills AT home. School. Work and social situations. In the DBT skills group. UP to eight clients meet weekly for 1.5 hours to learn and practice DBT skills. TWO classes are offered: ONE for young adults (AGE 17 25) and the other for adults (AGE 26+). Classes are organized in Four modules: core mindfulness. Distress tolerance. Emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. It takes 6 months to complete ALL skills classes. Most clients take the Four DBT modules more than once to more fully absorb and apply the skills AS they become increasingly automatic in most areas of your life. Thus a typical course of treatment is 1 year. Family therapy is a chance for YOU and your Family members to meet with a licensed professional to address Family Crises and communication issues. And to learn tools for improving these familial relationships. AT ST. Louis DBT. We define Family however YOU define Family and we welcome anyone YOU want to Bring to your SESSIONS. FAMILY or couples sessions are offered AS needed in addition to regular individual sessions. ST. Louis DBT does NOT currently offer a full Family DBT program. That would include multi-family DBT groups in which clients attend skills groups with AT least ONE Family member and meet with their Family therapist weekly AS well.
