Located in St. Louis, the Child Day Care Association is a nonprofit social agency that is funded by the United Way. It provides accreditation support services, as well as technical assistance for individuals and groups who are interested in opening child care centers and family child care homes. The agency s child care resource and referral program assists families in locating and selecting child care facilities through consumer education. Its first steps program provides early intervention services for infants and toddlers with delayed development and diagnosed conditions associated with developmental disabilities. In addition, the agency provides an online searchable list of conferences, workshops and presentations to be held in and around St. Louis for early childhood professionals.
