1 star bc 0 not an option. Batten's owner (pictured) arrived with younger technician to repair our dishwasher heating element. They contracted through Old Republic Home Warranty. I said we do not wear outdoor footwear in our home (for sanitary and spiritual/religious reasons). Owner said he can't do it because he broke his back and could not bend down. I said I would put them on for him. He immediately turned his back and began walking away, said, "I'd rather just send it back". He quickly submitted a bill to our warranty company for the visit saying service was not able to be provided. I wonder how he got his shoes on that day? How was he prepared to inspect our below counter level dishwashing heating element given that he was unable to bend over. I would have happily worked with him to accommodate both of our health/physical health needs, but he was ready to throw the towel in immediately.. did not want to work, the owner has silently quit his own company, and it shows. He still billed, wasted everyone's time, and his dismissive response felt untrustworthy. Terrible service, he doesn't value his employee who came that day who could have assisted, nor our time as residents, or much of anything it felt like. My Overall Take Away from Battens: He Just Doesn't Care. Zero Stars. 0

By far the worst customer service in the world. I am ashamed to say that that manager is most likely the source of the issue. Her motto seems to center around "Not My Problem". Eventually her disorganization and lack of concern are going to get that place shut down and her employees out of jobs. I wish I could give it negative stars.
Took over 3 months to get appliances repaired. There was no follow up after the first set of parts were ordered. They promptly misplaced that set and had to order a new set of parts. Meanwhile providing multiple excuses as to why they were exempt from responsibility. In my opinion, this company is becoming the poster child of what not to do to be successful.
The poor management unfortunately cost me a tennant in my rental. I cant blame the tenant, I as the homeowner excepted the responsanility of Battens mistakes and took money off the rent to help ease his frustrations. Unfortunately it did not help. It would be nice if a full blown buisness emulated that form of integrity.
When I confronted the manager she stated she relied on the complaining customer to prompt her response to the issue. Further explained, she did not have the time to proactively track clients work orders.
We have decided, that due to the fact they are contracted via our home warranty, we would sooner not use the warranty and pay any appliance repair out of pocket than ever give Battens our buisness again. If you do have the misfortune of using them, "Good Luck".

So far they have been unreliable and rude. I had to call them to get an update after they did a home visit. I was told that they had to order a part and that it would be in on Monday. Well, Monday came and I did not received a call. I called on Tuesday and left a message. We received a call on Wednesday saying that they would be here on Thursday from 9 to 11 am. Hurricane Matthew has been on the news for over 2 weeks now. Why would they make appointments on Wednesday for Thursday, only to cancel them the next morning. They now will not be able to get to my own until next week Wednesday. When I called to see why I was being pushed back so far, the lady was very rude, unprofessional and just a tad bit hysterical. I understand that the storm is coming, but it is not necessary to let the storm be in you!!!!!!!!!

Sunday Bankers Warranty Group referred us to Batten's Appliance to service our Bosch refrigerator, telling us our appointment was set for Tuesday sometime between 8 AM to 5 PM and they would call Monday to better define the time. No call. I phoned Batten's Tuesday at 9 AM and left a message, and 10, and 11:30 and 1 PM. Still, no callback. I phoned Bankers Warranty Group and they called and left a message...no callback. Is this even a business?!! I looked at the reviews and now I understand: every review was negative. I called Bankers Warranty Group and asked for another service company to service my appliances. If there was an option for zero stars Batten's would deserve zero stars for lack of customer service.

This company is not responsive at all. They do not return telephone calls and do not follow up on commitments. I would not recommend this company for anything.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.. Let me tell you why....At this point, it has been two times that my service contract has given me this company to fix my washer. (Repair man is very nice and helpful) However, both times I have waited over two weeks for the repair to be done. This time it's going on two and a half weeks. The office staff lie and blame my service contract that I have, saying they don't respond to their calls. I have had my service people on three way and I magically get some where with Batten's when they are confronted about their allegations. I never get calls about the progress, when I finally do get through to them, myself, I am given the run around.. I was even hung up once! As I sit here with laundry pilled everywhere, I can sware on everything holy that I WILL NEVER go through Batten's again. I will make sure none of my friends use them as well.

Customer Service Sucks

I have left numerous voice mails for these people and never received a call back. I placed a service call on 8 March 2010 for a repair to my refridgerator and I am still sitting here on 23 March 2010 with a broken appliance.



This is a Mom and Pop type company and the Husband and wife ride together, which of course leaves the number listed here in the Yellow Pages unmaned. You will not get an answer unless you call as soon as they open at 0800, which is what I have had to do, however, the story I get from the person who answers the phone is a lie and after 0900, you will not be able to reach them again.



If you want your appliance repaired in a timely manner, DO NOT use this company. I have learned my lesson and hope to help you not make the same mistake I did when I called these people.
