(At least one) rude staff person, and poor return policy

In early August I made a special stop at Anderson's Lampshades, looking for a particular style shade. They didn't have exactly what I was looking for, but I bought a shade that would do the job. I found another shade elsewhere that was exactly what I was looking for, so intended to return the shade from Anderson's. Again, I made a special trip to Anderson's to make the return. I approached the counter with my return with a smile and a greeting. The woman behind the counter was not pleasant. Although I was attempting to return the shade within the month, and the shade was still in it's wrapper, she pointed at the slip and said, "NO RETURNS AFTER 5 DAYS." I was surprised. I hadn't noticed the slip before that, and 5 days seemed unreasonable. I asked, "Really?" She said, "Yes." She went on to say patronizingly that I should have called her, it's not her fault that I came in after the five days were up, and that she wasn't going to argue about it. I said, politely, "Really? If I can't return it, I won't be a customer again." She said that it was my choice and I didn't have to be a customer again. Yes. It is my choice. I will not be a customer again, and I will tell others of my experience. So, unless you really want a particular shade only they carry, and you are confident you can return it in less than 5 days, I would recommend you steer clear.
