We rushed over to Brighton Vet clinic today and asked the receptionist if they would take an emergency because our 14 year old dog suddenly lost control of his entire right side. The receptionist said our dog could be seen in between scheduled visits which was cool - help was on the way. Then the receptionist became really rude even with co-workers standing behind her as if it was the usual behavior used here because we couldn't answer her correctly about how our dog was "after" the event because he was still having the event when we last saw him try to walk / stand. 20 minutes later she told us they wouldn't be able to see our dog at all unless we leave him there. Who would let an emergency wait 20 minutes - we could have found a vet who actually cared in that 20 minutes...

Dr. Hedges is the best. He's been practicing for over 40 years and has seen it all. He is the only vet, I believe, who does awake tooth cleaning for dogs. He gives his opinion but is still respectful and doesn't push when I don't want to follow the standard of care. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Dr Hedges is the best vet I have ever! So careing! He really helps you make the right decisions for your pet. I've been to vets that only try to sell me stuff, concerned more about thier wallet then the health of my pet, but not Dr. Hedges. He never pressures you for a decision, assures you of your pets comfort. I swear I've seen a tear in the corner of his eye when we have had to put animals down. He understands the pain this loss causes. I've brought every animal I have to him for the last 8 years. I can only hope to find a doctor for me as compasionite as Dr Hedges has been for my fury babies.

I have always considered Dr Hedges to be a compassionate animal doctor since I first started going there back in the early 90's. Fast forward all these years and I learn that he also helps heal inmates--not physically---but with their spiritual demons. Not only is he well respected by many that I work with- he is admired by those he teaches...and has gone above and beyond proving himself to be a caring man.

Dr. Hedges goes out of his way for every animal. They have a question line, great hours, caring staff. And they care for birds which we had a hard time finding.

This is truly a special clinic. Prices and staff knowledge are comparable to other clinics. Where they stand out is in their treatment of handling both the pets and their owners. The people working here are extremely understanding and caring about both about the animals and their people owners. Their hours are also great for those of us who would have trouble making day appointments. I will continue using this clinic for both my current and future pets. I would also highly recommend this clinic to anyone.

First of all, these folks have great hours. Some nights they're open until 10:00, saving you a trip to the emergency clinic (and the expense!). Secondly, they truly love animals, and are willing to go the extra mile to make you feel good about having your pet treated there. Any more now, I'm not sure how they compare expense wise, as I haven't used another vet since coming here. Doesn't matter, though. when you find a decent vet, you keep them!

My two cats have been treated extremely well and I would definitely recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone!
