I've been here many times for meetings, weddings, and even a wine tasting. This is a beautiful place in a historic neighborhood. This club features beautiful fireplaces, chandeliers, breath-taking views and beautiful wood architecture.

We had our wedding ceremony at the Summit Avenue St Paul University Club, overlooking the spectacular Mississippi River valley. Reception was in the Summit room. The staff was awesome in guiding us through the wedding ceremony and reception. They sure were on their game and when I didn't think they knew what was going on they were 2 steps ahead of us! On the day of the wedding, I was so at ease knowing everything was handled. The food was awesome at the wedding and not like usual wedding food. We also got to taste the food before hand and it was great. Across the street is a pretty little park that's perfect for pictures - it also overlooks the Valley and the St. Paul "High Bridge". Beautiful scenery and great staff! The perfect place to have a wedding!

We wanted a small site, because we only had ten people, including our guests. The University Club has a gorgeous fireplace room that we could use, and it was just perfect. Our ceremony was small but elegant, and then we had dinner in their restaurant, which was amazing. The food is by the same people who run W.A. Frost, which is right down the street, on Selby instead of Summit Avenue. Gorgeous old building, wonderful staff, great food. Perfect for our small wedding - will always remember it!

My sister got married here in August 2008. The following were the issues:



The food was TERRIBLE. The lettuce was so wilty it looked/tasted like it had been sitting in the sun for hours. Additionally they DRENCHED the soggy lettuce in the dressing. It was so bad most guests opted not to eat their salad at all. The night of the wedding they changed the kind of chicken that was prepared. The punch they said was enough for our 184 guests ran out after the first half hour. We were told that punch could be served in cups my mom had specially ordered for the couple; she put them on the punch table the morning of the wedding. To this day we have no clue what happened to them...they certainly did not get used! They ran out of liquor and the bartender said it was b/c no one ordered more after the club's previous event.



The University Club just contacted my sister and her husband about two weeks ago to say they owe almost $1,300 more, even though they have records stating the entire bill is paid (without any money taken off for all the screw ups). Infact, their statement shows that the Club was supposed to charge the final amount to be $800 and they charged $1,400 ($600 more than they were given permission for) and when it was addressed after my sister looked at her bank statement, they said that they found extra fees after they spoke with my sister on the phone for that final payment.



Please do NOT let anyone you know use this venue!
