I visited the St. Peters, MO location on April 22, 2014.



After an audiology test I was told that I need hearing aids (both ears). My insurance company was contacted and coverage was verified.



I signed an agreement to purchase the hearing aids and within the document signed it was noted that there is a 30 day return policy.



I received a call later that day was told that the most my insurance company would pay is $1,200 and I was ask to be put on a finance plan. I stated that I would make a call myself and I did. My insurance company stated that there were no restrictions and nothing in the policy indicated a $1,200 restriction. I called the St. Peters office back and was told this is an agreement between Southwestern Hearing Centers and Aetna Insurance Company, which is my insurance carrier. I then stated I wanted the order cancelled as I did not wish to be put on an expensive payment plan.



On April 24, 2014 I returned to the St. Peters location to obtain a copy of my audiology report. Everyone in this location is aware of the fact that I am disabled and can barely walk. I was informed that buried within the paperwork I signed was a statement that I would not receive a copy of my audiology report. Then the clerk in the front was going to call the home office but advised me there would be a charge to receive a copy of my report! I left the office as I have no intention of paying a fee for my report.



If this was an ethical business then I would be provided with a copy of my report and my deposit would be refunded immediately.
