St Vincent de Paul Society is a good charity for the poor. I donate many of my household excesses there for i know someone else could use them. Whatever monies they receive is given back to the less fortunate. I also shop there for some of the things i might temporarily need. God blesses them to keep their mission going.

If You're looking for furniture go elsewhere. They price their items as if they are brand new, sometimes higher than brand new. They will tell you they feed thousands of mouths per day to justify. When I see "thrift store" I think bargains for people that don't have a lot of money, no money to purchase new. There is something crooked going on in there. If you have the money, and you do make a purchase, think of your total as having a gratuity included. Taking advantage of the $5 bag of clothes is misleading as well. How else can they dwindle the supply of 70's and 80's styles? Halloween is the best time to shop here or if you are planning a vacation to the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Non-Profit? I think not!
