Plantation unfolds among a forest of ancient live oaks, cedar, and Georgia long-leaf pines. It boasts expansive fairways that give definition to the course and liberal sightlines between holes, enticing the accomplished and inviting the novice. But your favorite memory of Plantation may not have anything to do with golf. The bagpiper at sundown, an endearing Sea Island tradition, takes place on the 10th fairway, marking the closing of the courses. Along with the Seaside Course, it is the home of the PGA TOUR's RSM Classic, a FedEx Cup event hosted by Sea Island touring professional Davis Love III.
