I had been seeing Dr. Perez for years. One day I came in a week after having my teeth cleane to have two fillings replace that had just recently fallen out while I was flossing.
Much to my surprise, after driving 24 miles there through heavy snow, I barely had both feet in the door when the receptionist informed me that my Medicaid was inactive, and therefore they would not be able to see me. I thought to myself, this must be some kind of mistake- it was active just last week, and I hadn’t received anything from Medicaid to the contrary. I also though that if they were going to refuse to see me, they could ha called, saving me the gas and jittery nerves and the risk of driving nearly 50 miles round trip for nothing.it occurred to me as well that this office is well aware that Medicaid will pay back two months of back bills when necessary. As a long term patient that they had seen just the week before and had knowledge that it was imperative to get those open areas filled before more damage occurred, one would think they would go ahead and see me, to make sure that their long term patient didn’t end up losing teeth over an administrative mistake. One might think that... but as it turn out, DR PEREZ CARES MORE ABOUT MONEY THAN HE CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS.
I went ahead and made an appointment elsewhere- six weeks later. At that point I had to wait for my New Medicaid application to be processed to get an appointment. As it turns out, a county employee had mistakenly put a newborn baby on my Medicaid case- a clerical error that was clearly no fault of my own.
So, fast forward six weeks. I am now going to LOSE THREE TEETH. Had Dr Perez had faith that Medicaid would get things straightened out and pay the bill, which they did, I could have gotten new fillings. NOW IM LOSING THREE TEETH. THANKS A LOT DR. PEREZ. THANKS FOR CARING.
