I'm responding to the review about Laurel who no longer is here. Kari, had purchased a coupon from Half Price Salem. She arrived and had her hair weaved. She tipped Larerel, I'm assuming she must have liked it or why tip. I saw her hair upon leaving and it was what she asked for. She called the next day and wanted the ends lighter. Applying more bleach to the ends would've caused breakage. I advised Laurel to have her sign a release forms if she insisted on it being done. She did sign it. Laurel did not charge her. She tipped again. Then she called the next day demanding her money back. I saw this as an attempt to get the service for free. If the job was poor I would have personally fixed it, but it was an excellent job.

I went to laurel with the coupon and asked for a full weave to lighten up my hair and my roots. When she did my hair was lighter alright, it was platinum on top then my normal hair color towards the ends of my hair. I went back so she could fix it. She did, and then charged me a second time. Laurel took the easy way out, simply making the rest of my hair platinum blonde which I never wanted. I was very clear from the beginning that I wanted it BLONDE and even with my roots, not platinum. Not only was I not happy with the color, it was then patchy all the way around my head where she slopped the dye at her attempt to fix my hair. A few days went by and I was just too unhappy with it. I tried to speak to her for her to fix it but she only replied with attitude then threw the situation to the business owner, Bridget Mason. Bridget told me that I could not get a refund and they wouldn’t fix my hair because I had the $25 off coupon (which in reality, only saves me $12.50). Bridget also told me that she wouldn’t help me because she thought my hair looked cute when I was leaving the salon, implying that I was wrong or lying. Another one of her invalidated excuses was that everybody who works there are independent contractors so they make their own refund policies, so I asked if anything was in writing, and she said well no. in desperation she concluded her argument with stating that at his point Laurel just couldn’t make me happy, repeatedly, implying then that it was my fault that I was not happy and at that point no one could do anything to make me happy. She said anything she could but in the end all excuses were invalid and simply rude. It is clear to me that this business is not based on their customers’ happiness or integrity. I would never recommend anyone to come to Expressions Hair and Nails not only because of the fake and unprofessional service, also because Expressions Hair and Nails is slummy and there are much nicer places in Salem to get your hair and nails done at.
