I am on my 3rd set of free tires from the tires for life program. I have saved over $2100. My maintenance is about the same price as anywhere else, but I get great benefits. The people that I hear complain on this site, and others obviously did not do their part of the agreement. It does not come out of the dealerships pocket, it is an insurance company that determines if you qualify or not, and they pay the bill!! Anyway, be careful what you believe, the people who screw up, usually yell the loudest.

I was working with Marcus with the Chevrolet sales team on a new vehicle from a different dealership. We had agreed upon a price that was fair and reasonable. Then we learned that the new vehicle was being driven by the owner of that dealership and had excessive miles. To say the least I didn't purchase that vehicle. Then we looked at the new vehicles on the Chevrolet lot. I located one I wanted. We started the negotiations and both of us took off Christmas week. When we returned, the dealership added very expensive options of rims and wheels. For the next two days I attempted to obtain an offer from the dealership. At the close of business, I received a quote that exceeded the amount I wanted to pay and the salesman knew I wanted to pay. I countered and haven't heard back from the salesman or the dealership in over 24 hours even after e-mailing the General Manager.I have never stepped foot in this dealership and I was torn about the rating. The first part was great, but when we started to look on the dealership lot, the communication started to drop. With this experience, I would not recommend this dealership.I did purchase a new car from a different dealership.

My husband and I went to Capitol Auto Group's new lot in September 2012 to purchase a used car. We thought we were clear about what we wanted in a car. and after we had a poor experience at Power Mazda we came to Capitol with the intent to buy. Unfortunately, I found their sales tactics included a lot of smoke and mirrors, and not many facts. I want to be clear. The gentleman who showed us around the lot, Bentley, was *awesome*. He was personable, patient, and knowledgeable. The gentleman who handled the financing however, was quite condescending and a bit shady. We ended up purchasing a vehicle at a different dealership, a 2006 Toyota Corolla S. A few days later, Capitol called my husband and I and offered us a free oil change for the car we purchased at a compertitor's lot! My husband scheduled an appointment for a Saturday morning a few weeks out and we received a free oil change, filter, and lube. That was awesome! About a week later, we received a box in the mail, with a handwritten thank you note and BPA free water bottle thanking us for using their service department. I would never buy a car here, but I would have my car serviced by their certified technicians. Our experience wasn't perfect, but it worked.

On March 10th, 2011 I went with a friend to look at used cars at Capitol Auto Group in Salem. Eric Farm, our salesman, was extremely knowledgable, honest and a joy to work with and he found her the perfect hybrid Highlander. We had great interactions with Nate and the desk manager, Kelly, and came to a great price on a SUV that she loves. The experience was so wonderful that I went back yesterday and bought an amazing 2011 Venza from Eric again (they had 7 new ones to pick from). It is gorgous and has 5000.00 off MSRP. They gave as much as I could hope for on my trade. I LOVE the Venza, it is so comfortable and I know I will be happy in it for quite some time. Thank you Capitol Toyota and I love your new showroom, I think it will be amazing when the rest of your autogroup moves and joins you at your new site behind Home Depot off the Parkway. You all are amazing and I am amazed at your selection of both new and used vehicles.

Bought a used car on Sunday with my trade-in. By Tuesday it started to make noise in the front end. Took it back Tuesday night and got no where with them. All they would say is bring in back tomorrow which I did. Spent the who day there trying to get them to see what was wrong but they wanted to charge me to look at it. WHAT?? Sense I was at my 3 days of having the car I told them I just wanted out of the deal. I was then told that I was not able to get my old car back and I needed to find something on there lot. Must of been the small lettering I didnt see and wasnt told of when signing the papers. left the lot upset with the promis that they would do something with in the week. On the way home I stopped by another car dealer and asked them if they knew what the noise was. After taking a test drive and Very Happy to help me find the problem it came down to a $50 part. Wow all day at Capital Auto in Salem and 30 min at this place and I got an answer. They Suck at customer Service!

The Statesman Journal posted that Toyota is now going to honor their deals, but they won't even return my calls. What a scam. And they won't even admit they aren't honoring the deal.

After researching up and down the West Coast we found the best value to be Capitol Subaru. We found what we were looking for on-line communicated with them and went down to look at the vehicle. Once we got there Rory, and Billy took great care of us. We found the Subaru that we wanted 2009 Legacy at a fair price, and the service was great. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

How can this guy say not to buy a car here if his family has bought 3 cars and his friends buy them, too...can't be all bad.

Do not shop here! I have personally bought two cars here, and have a best friend who bought a car there,my sister did, as well as family. They are very happy to take your money, and egg you on to buy more and more, and then they will jip (Screw) you at some point in time. I won't buy any vehicles here ever, and I do not believe my family will either, and we will never recommend them. But, if you still feel the need to shop with them, if they offer you their tires for life program, do not accept it. It's a gimmick that they make thousands off of. My best friend did this program, she did all of capitols expensive maintenance on her car for years, and rotations on the tires too (they charge you for those!!!) when the time came to claim her free tires that were owed to her, they denied her claim. Why? They claim she missed one tire rotation in a 12k mile gap. this is rediculous. They will kill thier buisness one person at a time.
