Several years ago my cat had a very hard pregnancy. She was only carrying two kittens and they were to large for her to deliver.

I live in Gunnison, and we tried to find an emergency vet who would help us. We couldn't. So I called Mountain Shadows in Salida. In the middle of the night, Kit preformed a c-section on the mother cat, this saved her life. We were also able to save one of the kittens.

Kit did this with the compassion and knowledge of a true animal lover. If my cat hadn't lived I would have also at least known we did the most we could for her.

I have been to lots of Vets, I have had lots of Pets.

Kit is by far the best vet I have ever been to, on short notice he far out did himself, for us.

I just wanted to say Thank you again.

These people just put my friend through HELL with the most horribly BOTCHED euthanasia I have EVER heard of!!!(The dog was a 13 year old service dog to make things even worse) The vets first shot sent the dog into a panic at which the vet left the room because he had to come BACK into to give the dog a second shot and third shot to finally cause the dog to expire. This was a HORROR SHOW!! My friend received no apology nor any attempt at an "explanation of complications" or ANYTHING, which I think she deserves! I'm mortified and hope they never allow this to happen to another animal. (To add insult to injury, a 5 year old girl not related to the client was allowed to watch and ask "why is the lady crying?" BAD!

my 15 1/2 year old dog always disliked going to see any vet. But, the great Doc (Kit) did a knee surgery on her at age 12 and she wagged her tail whenever she went to his clinic after that....only vet visits that didn't create major anxiety for us. This place rocks--the vets and all the staff are top notch.

Everyone in my family takes thier pets here I have just recently started going here.

Everyone at Mountain Shadows is just great. My puppy loves Dr. Annie. Wonderful service and really wonderful staff.
