Founded in 1976 by Roy Applequist, Great Plains Manufacturing, manufactures agricultural equipment then markets that equipment throughout the United States and overseas. Headquartered in Salina, Kan., the company holds manufacturing facilities in several other Kansas cities and one in Cetek, Wis. Its subsidiaries include the Land Pride division, which diversified its products to include mowers, tillers, cutters, and seeding equipments; Great Plains Trucking, which delivers its products; and Great Plains Acceptance Corporation, which provides product financing.
