In January 2020, Jenna Allers joined the Salinas Valley Cancer Center as a nationally certified physician assistant. Jenna earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in physician assistant studies at Daemen College in Buffalo, New York. She began her career focused on internal medicine at a hospital in New York. During her time there, she found her passion for oncology. She went on to work in an oncology centered urgent care and then in a radiation oncology office. Jenna believes in building a rapport with patients so they feel supported. “My goal is to educate my patients so they thoroughly understand their treatment options. I want them to feel confident to ask questions and share any concerns.” Jenna’s role involves working outpatient in the clinic and infusion center as well as seeing some inpatients. She has also participated in two medical mission trips in 2015 and 2016 to the Dominican Republic. She hopes to be a part of more medical mission trips in the future. During her free time, Jenna enjoys running, biking, golfing, practicing yoga, surfing and traveling.
