I made the mistake of taking two vehicles in at once after seeing so many positive reviews. The first i took in for new brakes. I was forced to pay for diagnostics and upsold to ~$800. Then referred to "a friend" because i had a leak in 3/4 tires. Since my tires were nearly new, i went to costco and they replaced two and patched the 3rd for much less and much better quality tires and under warranty. I dont know what else was done, but as soon as i got it back, my check engine light was on and now the truck shakes violently when idling. Also, i told them i only had a couple of hours in the morning because a friend was in town for a short time that i hadnt seen in years.
They said no problem. My truck wasnt available until that evening, i missed out on the reunion, and God knows what was done.

The second car is one that could not pass smog. I had the dealership diagnose it. They told me i needed to replace the thermostat. Midas said they had to do their own diagnostics, but that i wouldnt be charged. They told me i needed to keep driving it until the check engine light came on. I think i must have put 200 miles on that car from various mechanics telling me the same thing. They called me saying that they were able to clear the codes for smog. I went over to pick it up and have it smogged and the mechanic had the battery out, resetting all the codes. I could have cried. This was a car i had taken in 8 times for a smog check. The second mechanic told me that it was still having the same problem and that they never even looked at the thermostat because it was too far back in the engine. That was the only thing i asked them to do. I was charged for the "diagnostics."

For $1000 , i essentially got 4 brake pads, 2 brake cylindars?, and some filters. I am now praying im not doing colosal damage to my truck as i drive it until i have enough money saved to take it some place else.
