Motivating patients to take an active role in their care by staying physically active, eating healthy and taking medication when appropriate, is at the heart of Peter Oppenheim, MD’s approach to patient care. His goal is to help patients achieve and maintain a lifestyle that meets their personal health goals. Dr. Oppenheim is dedicated to caring for the whole person, not just a diagnosis, looking at the larger setting of their family and community. Creating lasting relationships over time, he hopes to improve their general well-being and quality of life. Earning his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine in 1993, he completed his residency at Community Hospital in Santa Rosa, California. Fluent in Spanish as well as English, Dr. Oppenheim is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is married and he and his wife, also a physician, have three children. Dr. Oppenheim’s leisure activities are eclectic ranging from rock climbing, hiking and CrossFit to yoga and cooking for family and friends.
