Founded in 1880, West Rowan Middle School serves more than 700 students in grades six through eight. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. The school publishes a newspaper, The Paw Print and a parent newsletter, Middle Years on monthly basis. West Rowan Middle School s facilities include a music hall and research, athletics, and special and gifted education centers. Located in Salisbury, N.C., the school is a part of the Rowan-Salisbury School System, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. It operates human resources, child nutrition, school improvement, and student and media services divisions. The district is approved by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and provides food and transportation services to students.
