In 1967, Murray City started the first city youth club through the guidance of the mayor and his advisors. Housed in various old store fronts and businesses since its inception, the Boys & Girls Club of Murray now has a more than 3,000-square-foot facility. The purpose of the club is to promote the social, educational, health, leadership and character development of boys and girls during critical periods of their growth. The Boys & Girls Club of Murray offers character and leadership development, art, health and life skills, and sports, fitness and recreational programs. The club also offers education and career development programs that include basic educational disciplines and technology courses. As a service to its youth generation, the club conducts several surveys and operates various programs in partnership with the Murray City School District. The club is located in Murray, Utah.
