Moran Eye Center is one of the divisions governed by the University Health Care. The center's facility is accessible to individuals with varying levels of sight abilities. Its facility houses the Utah Lions Eye Bank, which provides donor tissue for vision-restoring corneal transplants to more than 400 recipients in Utah and Wyoming every year. The center staffs more than 40 faculty members, including vision researchers and specialists who come from 10 different countries. Moran Eye Center specializes in providing treatment for cornea and external eye disease, as well as cataract, glaucoma, and uveitis and ocular infectious diseases. The services offered include ophthalmology, optometry, ocular pathology, electrophysiology, pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, neuro-ophthalmology, and oculoplastic and facial plastic surgeries. The center, located in Salt Lake City, also conducts unique counseling program to help patients and their families cope with visual impairment.
