I would NEVER have invested here had I known how difficult it is to withdraw the funds. These funds are setup so that there is 1 account owner on these funds, and the account owner is the only one who can do ANY transactions on the accounts. This makes it impossible for me to pay tuition for my daughters college or make ANY changes to the account to support our children. So I am now having to go about getting the funds in a round-about-way because my spouse is away on wildfire, and he is the account owner. UESP is reluctant to help me in any way because I did not designate myself as the account owner when my husband and I created these accounts to pay for our children's college. UESP only wants to talk to my husband and he is "in the field" and his only contact with the outside world is by phone. He has no idea what to ask for or how to fix things. One UESP agent told me that these restrictions are all due to the squirrely behavior of couples that divorce and fight. It penalizes those of us in a working relationship that are trying to do what is right for our children with OUR money. Heaven forbid my husband ends up in an accident and can't sign the papers for us to access OUR children's money.I wish I had just put all this money in a Roth IRA and split it between myself and my husband so we would have easy access to all this money without going through UESP experiencing all these restrictions.
