According to the Dex website, this company closes at 6:00pm. I needed to use my Groupon since it was expiring, so I left work a little early and drove all the way from the University to Winchester gardens, and arrived at 5:30. Guess what? They were closed. All the gates were shut. They have to honor the purchase price, so I will go back just because I don't want to waste the $20, but it makes me wonder if they just couldn't bear to honor any more Groupon discounts. I should have been able to buy $40 worth of plants.

From the reviews, I went with my coupon and the attitude that I would just see what I could find. I was hoping for some hostas to fill in a relatively new garden area. I found two friendly ladies who were more than willing to help me. They did have lots of hostas that looked great. I picked out three of those and two asters. I found the plants to be in much better shape than reported and in better shape than I expected for mid-July. It is small and surrounded on all sides by another nursery so you have to go in where it says "Entrance" not where it says "Parking" as that is for the other nursery. There is parking in the area where it says "Entrance" although its small but no smaller than the "Parking" area of the other nursery. I plan to go to Winchester Gardens again and recommend it to anyone that can go with an open mind and good attitude.

Terrible customer service, they were not knowledgeable or even very friendly, WAY WAY over priced, no place to park, prices not easy to identify, not much selection, i received a lecture on why i should spend over the amount on the groupon i bought. In every way the was a terrible business, i am sorry for anyone else who gets duped into going there. Definitely DONT go, 0 stars!!

I wish I could give it 0 stars! These guys are crooks. sold vouchers on KSL Deals for 20.00 that were supposed to give you 40.00 worth of plants/flowers. Well they MORE than doubled their prices and replaced their normal stock with very small sickly little plants. DO NOT GO THERE! Even if you get some great deal you would be better off to go the nursery next door or even to your local retail store. I think they are banking on the other nursery s customers going there by mistake. It is a mistake you only make once!! I was stuck using my 40.00 voucher but I didn t spend one more dime at that place! I went next door and got some really nice plants at a fair price.

I bought two Living Social Deals, thinking it was the nursery next door. Was very disappointed when I arrived and found out I had purchased the deal to the neighboring nursery. I had picked out beautiful flowers from "West Side Nursery" thinking I was at "Winchester Gardens". When I went to use the deal they told me I was at the wrong nursery. So I walked next door to Winchester Gardens, the inventory was terriable. There were no flowers. There was an employee sitting on the porch of the office who didn't offer to help me or ask what I was looking for. It was ridiculous!!!!! So I went back to "West Side" and paid for the flowers I had picked out. Now I hope I can get a credit from Living Social - lesson learned. The person who wrote the only possitive review about this company, has to be an owner.

I too bought a Groupon (actually 3 total - 1 to use and 2 to give as gifts) and figured I would check out this place since it is local and I like to support local businesses. It was hard to find a place to park (lots of other vehicles parked along the street) but after I walked in I saw that there was a small area for parking inside the gate. There wasn't a large selection and the pricing was difficult to determine. I asked someone and they gave me some information and then I wandered around until I came across some flowers that looked decent enough. I got the attention of a worker and she was friendly and helpful. I told her I wanted $40.00 worth of flowers so she checked inside and the building and came back and said that I could get 6 (6 packs) of flowers for $40.00 - she helped pick some nice ones and then I went to exchange my Groupon. I asked if they also sold vegetables and they did have some inside. The total cost was actually about $38.00 and they don't give cash back, so I CHOSE to buy two tomato plants and pay the overage which was $8.00. So, in summary and to be fair, the people that helped me were friendly and I was able to find some flowers to buy. On the negative side, everything is WAY overpriced and is NOT A GOOD VALUE when compared to places that I've bought flowers in the past.

I second the "Awful by Learned my lesson - 04/09/2012". I bought a $99 Groupon and luckily Groupon has good service and refunded my my money. Winchester Gardens is currently doing a deal on Living Social and i read that they did one last year on City Deals. They have very very few plants, they are over priced, and half of them look terrible. I have never written a review before, never ever, but I was motivated this time.

Winchester Gardens pales in comparison with West Side Nursery, which is right next door. I can't believe they would be so rude and put their business so close to West Side Nursery. I was shocked at their lack of selection, poor quality plants, and limited quantity. Not one person came out to greet me or ask if I needed any help. I only went there because I bought a Groupon (thinking it was for the other nursery), so glad I was able to get out of that! West Side Nursery has wonderful workers who are very willing to help. Their selection is great and their plants are beautiful!

These guys are the worst. Ok, so this can be confusing. On 6400 South there are actually two nurseries right next to each other. One which has been there forever and this one. I would suspect that the review below if from the owner or employee. (Come on it sounds like a total sales pitch) because I found the people at the other to be friendly and helpful. Whatever you do don't park your car in the middle one and think you can shop at both nurseries. The owner of this nursery came out and yelled at me, and told me to move my car unless I shopped there. What a jerk. Who wants to shop there. The plant selection is not the best, similar to a Home Depot. My advice shop at the nursery that has been there the longest, not this yelling "Jonny come lately."

These guys are the best. It doesn't matter how much you have spend, they are ready to help. We've had a lot of success with their plants and in case something unfortunate happens, they stand behind their products. They are always friendly willing to take time to help you out and give you pointers for planting. We happened upon them by mistake, as they are sandwiched in-between another less helpful nursery. As we were walking around looking for someone to help us at the other nursery we walked up to what we thought was anther out building and were instantly greeted and helped. I told them that they should have someone over in the other areas because there were other people who needed help. Then they informed me that it was another nursery. I can't believe the difference in customer service. Since discovering them, they have helped us with our own small yard as well as lager projects for our home owners association. No matter what the planting project is, they are the first place we go.
