This is my complaint to the San Angelo chapter of the BBB on this company:



Tony came out to my house on 3 Sep 13 to install a smoke detector. I gave him a check (#1081) in the amount of $60. 19 Oct 13 the check wasn't cashed so I called Robison Electric and left a message including the following information (my name, call back, invoice #, check #, amount of check, date of service, and technician's name) I never got a call back. 5 Nov 13 I called again during lunch after not getting my email answered by the company and when I called them they told me that they don't know where the check or the invoice was. I called American Home Shield who contracted Robison Electric and they advised me to cancel the check since it has been over two months and Robison lost control of the check. I called my bank (USAA) and cancelled the check. Two minutes after hanging up with my bank I got a voice mail from Robison stating that they found my check. I called them and told them not to use that check as it has been cancelled. They asked me to come in tomorrow (6 Nov 13) to make a payment. I asked when they close and they stated 5 pm, which is when I get off of work. They told me that I could mail it in, but I would rather see them in their eyes and get a receipt because of my past experience with this company. They told me that I could come in during my lunch. So now not only have they not cashed a check and lost positive control of my check, they want me to use my lunch hour that I get to spend with my wife to come in and give them another check, which God only knows when that one is going to be cancelled. I also had to use my one time free check cancellation from my bank, the next time it will cost me $29 to cancel a check! They potentially cost me $29 in the future, what am I going to get back for that? This company is wasting my time and effort to pay them for a service they provided over 2 months ago becuase of their incompetence with book-keeping. This is something that shouldn't go un-noticed by the public and by the BBB!
