In 1950, with a $500 loan from his father, Bill Miller opened a small poultry and egg business. Three years later Bill Miller Bar-B-Q began as a small fried chicken-to-go restaurant. Today Bill Miller is a family-owned and operated business with 75 locations in the San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, and surrounding areas. We take pride in cooking all our barbecued meats in pits smoked with 100% live oak wood. We offer a variety of meats such as brisket, sausage, bar-b-q chicken, pork spareribs, ham, turkey, and fried chicken. We specialize in the baking of bread and pies made fresh daily. Not as good as I'd hoped

I'm in from LA and how can you be in Texas and not get some barbecue? The reviews I read on this chain elsewhere were mixed, but since it's right next door to my hotel, I tried it anyway. I got the rib plate with three sides. The first rib I had was absolutely great! Tender and wonderful and it put Los Angeles Bar-b-q to shame. The other ribs on the plate must have come from an earlier batch because they were dry and overcooked, and a little bacony tasting. Oh well. I still enjoyed that first rib, and would go back to give them another chance. The service was friendly and efficient, and the place clean and comfortable. The sides were good also. Give it a try if you're in the area, and be happy with good, but don't expect fantastic.

Most Locals' Favorite BBQ Chain

Being a local, I've never been to a 'bad' Bill Miller restaurant. The food quality (and the service) are always consistently great. And the prices remain reasonable.
