The property itself isn't bad for the price, I guess. However, I would not recommend the place to dog owners. When I moved in I was told to just be sure to clean up after my dog and everything would be fine. Suddenly, six months later, I get a warning that I am in violation of my lease for not limiting walking my dog to the "Designated Pet Area." The thing is, there IS no clearly marked pet area, so I don't see how I am in violation. The area is not specified on the lease or the pet agreement I signed. And, as I said, I wasn't told she needed to be walked only in one area, just to always pick up after her, which I have always done. Then, there's the fact that the area they are now telling me is the only place I can walk her is right behind the dumpster, where all the stray and feral cats hang out. An area I usually avoid. Here is why: 1) My dog has a very strong hunting instinct. She sees a cat, she goes crazy. I don't want to disturb everyone else, so I try to keep her away from anything that will make her start barking. Plus, there are rules about excessive barking, which she only does when she sees a cat or another dog. It is inevitable that she'll see one every now and then, no matter where on the property we are, but I try to keep it to a minimum out of courtesy. And 2) because of all the cats, that particular area is riddled with fleas. I treat her, of course, but it only does so much when she is forced to be in an area that is more or less infested several times a day. Finally, 3) there is a picnic table right there. Why it is beside the dumpstes, I do not know, but in general, I fail to see how it is a good idea to let your dog pee all around the area that appears to be meant for people to enjoy and frequent.

And then there is the fact that you have to pester the office when you need something fixed. I complained quite a few times about a problem with my window before they finally sent anyone to even look at it. Then he said he'd be back to fix it after lunch, but he never came back. After about 3 weeks of this nonsense, I gave up. They are also supposed to give you notice 48 hours ahead of time that they are going to be doing an inspection or anything else that requires them to enter your apartment. The last few times, I was only informed 1 day ahead of time, but they put a different date on the papers so that it looks like they delivered the paper the day before. Not cool. Most uncool was the day I came home on a windy day, came inside, and found my dog acting unusually anxious and a paper taped up INSIDE my apartment. Because of the wind, they had decided instead of taping the notice (I don't remember what it was for, just that it was some kind of informational announcement) on the door like they usually do, to unlock my door, reach inside, and put the notice there. I find that to be not only highly inappropriate, but a violation of both my privacy and the agreement I signed, which clearly states they are not to enter without giving me warning. Not to mention the fact that I do have a somewhat large dog in the apartment and this could have ended very badly if she'd felt more threatened. (As I said, she was acting weird, so she probably did feel threatened by someone trying to enter when I was not prestent. No doubt they'd have tried to blame that on me and my dog.) These people have not done anything to show me they are trustworthy.

There is also obvious overcrowding in the apartments. There are families of 4 or more living in 1 bedroom units.

Unfortunately, I am stuck here due to financial issues and a lease. I would definately not recommend this place to anyone who isn't hard up for a place to live and short on cash. Or anyone who wants to be able to trust and/or rely on the staff.

not fit for the dead

follow ups are not done after walk through by the management. There are many tenants living in filthy apts fit to be condemned. Felony checks are not being done on prospective tenants. Management is aware of tenants living in extremely filthy conditions. In one apt roaches poured from faucet when it was turned on. Crowding is allowed in one bedroom apts. It's gotten so bad that bedbugs have developed. Only thing that matters is a rent check. Drinking and pot smoking done out in the open in pm across the street from police station.
