George Gervin Youth Center provides vocational training, remedial education, mentoring, tutoring, job placement, and various support services to more than 1,000 at-risk and disadvantaged youth and their families in San Antonio. It is a nonprofit organization, and was established more than eight years ago. The organization focuses on various concerns, such as family relationships, school achievement, social attitudes, employment and teen pregnancy. George Gervin Youth Center also provides programs on various issues, including substance abuse, drug trafficking, teen suicides, school, neighborhood and gang violence, self-esteem and homelessness. The center offers various programs, such as accelerated learning, basic center, comprehensive youth development, George Gervin construction and high school equivalency programs.
