My youngest daughter was injured while in care. The lack of concern for her well-being caused us to withdraw our daughters. Texas Child Care Licensing investigated and did give them a deficiency at the Medium-High level.

Her lead guide decided to put another child's diaper cream on her (violating child care licensing minimum standards) and causing my daughter to have an allergic reaction. While I had a toddler screaming, crying and frantically scratching at her hives, I was given reasons why this choice was made. The owner did apologize, after first explaining that she wasn't there when it happened so didn't know any details, and was concerned with what the allergist said (because this determined whether or not the school would have to make a report with Texas child-care licensing). What was absent was any concern for my child. The teacher, nor the director ever called me and asked if my child was ok. The teacher would not even respond to my messages with specific questions so that i could be better prepared for the allergist appointment. The only time anyone from the school asked if my child was ok was at least a week later when Texas Child Care Licensing came to investigate. After the lack of concern for my child was made evident my husband and I knew this was no place we felt comfortable with our children going.

We didn't ask them to pay for the doctor bill or the steroids that she had to be on because of the reaction. We simply asked them to repay us our tuition money for the remainder of the month since they would not be attending anymore, due to their misconduct, and they said we needed to give 30 days before withdrawing. Simply no remorse.
