Provided by YP.comFirst up: The food. I had the Meat Combo & Moroccan Hummus. Liked the whole garbanzo bean style of this dish. Mildly spicy, nothing overly strong, pretty darn tasty. The 3 kinds of meat were delicious--have to say their chicken was the best of the 3. Lamb sausage #2. Nice marinades & again mildly spicy....pretty good & on a lot of fluffy saffroned rice!
Next up: Service. Extremely disappointed in the strongest terms I can say here. I was watching my watch so these times are accurate. It took them 15 minutes just to come over and give me a menu. Narrow place, and I was sitting straight across from the open kitchen where all could see each other. 15 minutes to get a menu! There's just no excuse for that in my book. A couple next table over sat for longer just to get their order taken. They, and I, were both looking at our watches & I at every waiter/waitress who just walked on by---oblivious to the fact that two tables were being ignored. The owner, who sat me at the table, even told me she forgot about me. Huh? Where did I go? Small, narrow place....table with one guy and no food...how hard is it to miss that? When three tables around me who all arrived after I had been sitting there for some time (5 people per table) started getting their appetizers before I even had my food, that's when I lifted up my arms to a waitress to say "what's with this?" Worst part yet? 45 minutes. Yep, from the time I sat down, it took them 45 minutes to bring my food to the table. 45 minutes. My waiter didn't seem to sense it was a big deal to wait 45 minutes for one's food. No customary bread offering to tide one over during such a long wait......nothing but water. Even with that, there was a long time my glass was empty.
Sad thing is, the owner, a waitress and a waiter were all walking by my table, and my neighbor's many-many times, and said nothing.
My waiter was no where around to bring me my check, nor was I in a mood to wait 15 more minutes just to get it. At checkout, the owner did say "thank you for being patient".
Hey, a complementary appetizer, a little basket of bread, a free dessert would have made it all seem worthwhile. Worthwhile to wait that 45 minutes to get my food.
Will I go here again? Yes, one more time. All new places have their opening jitters. After all, the food was good. If the service isn't any better, that's the last they'll see of me.
Warning: just remember people, if you have someplace else to go after eating here, plan ahead and give yourself a good hour for your lunch---driving time not included.
