This shop is great! I regularly consign stuff with Second Home to both rotate stuff out of my home and make a little extra money from yard sale treasures. I all too often end up putting my earnings back into the store, however, because I love love their items; the store is always superbly designed! I also love the fact that they keep their inventory online and I can peek in on them even when I'm not able to stop by. The owners and staff are always professional, courteous, and most of all fair. They could give lessons on customer service to other retailers around town. Thanks, Second Home!

Horrible experience. The shop's owner contacted me via CL when I was selling some high quality decor. He wanted to meet at my office but failed to meet me despite my attempts to follow up. We agreed to prices over the phone before agreeing to meet.

Ultimately I brought the items to his store. His employees had no receipt to give me (yet they run a consignment business?) and seemed annoyed that I even asked. They also could not pay me at the time like the owner assured me they would. Once the owner got back to me he offered me 30-40% less than he had previously agreed to.

The store was clean, bright and well organized but I would NOT recommend selling anything on consignment, only sell if you get cash up front. Don't waste your time trying to meet up with this guy, he won't keep his word.

As always, we at Second Home strive to make consignment and purchasing of items as streamlined as possible. Our policy is to view items by picture first, give a possible price range, set up a time to pick-up or receive items, and then set the final price once the items are viewed in person by the owner. Since pick ups and drop offs are often done during times the owner is not present, pricing cannot be set immediately. There are many determining factors in pricing which include, but are not limited to, Condition, Quality, Name Brand, Size and Original Investment. Often times pictures are not the best representation of an item and a price range may be adjusted upon physical viewing of the piece. Moneys are exchanged once a final price is agreed upon. If price is not agreed upon, there is never obligation to leave items with our company. When purchasing items from an individual we require a receipt signed from the seller. If consigning then a contract is signed, each party receives a copy and this serves as the receipt. An individual is never obligated to leave their items at our store without meeting with the owner first and receiving payment. Our intent is to always meet with everyone in a timely manner. Unfortunately, coordinating around work schedules and business hours can be challenging at times. We make every effort to acquire, price and display items as efficiently as possible to benefit both parties.
