Located in San Antonio, SBDC, also known as Small Business Development Center assists existing and potential small-business owners by providing professional business advice. It was founded in 1989 and serves more than 950 individual business clients and conducts over 140 management training events for various business owners and managers. The center provides a wide variety of services, including training, organizing seminars, individual counseling, and providing research assistance and referrals to other resources. It organizes seminars on various topics, including business planning, marketing, accounting and personnel issues. The center also organizes various workshops that provide information on a variety of topics, including taxpayer identity numbers, record keeping systems, business transactions, cash flow control and technology. SBDC s programs are offering in partnership with the United States Small Business Administration and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
