Founded in 1983 and located in San Antonio, South Texas Dermatopathology Laboratory conducts diagnosis for the detection of inflammatory and genetic disorders, infectious diseases and skin cancer. The laboratory employs dermatopathologists who follow grossing, embedding, processing and staining procedures for the detection of malignant melanomas and other inflammatory conditions. It also offers training on topics related to dermatology and pathology for residents. South Texas Dermatopathology Laboratory provides in-house billing and insurance filing services. It offers various specimen containers, including formalin-filled bottles, requisition slips, hazardous material bags and shipping boxes. The laboratory accepts Medicaid and Medicare insurance plans.
