Provided by YP.comAverage.
I came here for lunch on a weekday with a group of seven. We heard there’s not a lot of seating room and it gets crowded during lunch. They were right. People were lined up outside waiting for a table. We arrived early and were able to get seated right away.
The staff was very friendly and the service was good.
I had the beef puffy taco lunch plate. The food and salsa were average. My friends really liked the flour tortillas. I had the corn tortillas. They were tough and tasted freezer burned.
The prices were a little high considering that you can get equal or better food at other places around town and a lower price.
I would go back but I’m not in a hurry.

Provided by YP.comNot the best...but I have had worse. They claim to have the "Best Tacos in America", I beg to differ...or maybe I ordered the wrong ones. I had lunch there today. The service was excellent but the food is not impressive. I ordered the Soft Chicken Taco lunch plate. The plate looked impressive with 3 chicken filled corn tortillas smothered in a ranchero type sauce. The corn tortillas used were pretty tasty as was the chicken. But the ranchero sauce, the beans and the rice were all VERY bland. I had to add a ton of salt and pepper to get some sort of flavor. I also added salsa that was served with the chips. The salsa was tasty but not spicy at all. Additionally, I believe the prices are a little to high. I paid $3.49 for a side of guacamole...it was a small spoonful of smashed avacodo served over very mild pico de gallo. I added salt and pepper to this as well.
The only thing I REALLY enjoyed was the flour tortilla served with my plate. They were delicious. Also, I tried a bite of the sopapilla and it was good too.
I wouldn't mind going back to try the nachos I saw come out of the window or even a breakfast taco (in hopes that maybe they would be the meaning behind their "Best Taco in America" claim).

Provided by YP.combut DEFINATELY not the best, not in san antonio, let alone the usa!! we moved to san antonio last year, and we love trying any of the MANY mexican food places in town. so when we passed taco taco and saw the sign " best taco in america", we just had to try it out! not a good experience! first of all, we do alot of real mexican cooking at home, so we have a basis of comparison. we have learned, you can tell alot about a place by the chile/salsa/hotsauce they present...this one smelled spoiled! they denied it, claimed that it was freshly made that morning, that's how theirs smells... anyway, we ordered the "award-winning" norteno taco, at $4.95 each, no less...and when they arrived, (1 beef & 1 chicken, the waitress even gave us the wrong ones), i opened mine, the avocado was black! when i pointed this out to the waitress, all she said was sorry.....okay, the tortillas were big, and granted, freshly made, but they were extremely skimpy, more tortilla than stuffing! and dry! i complained to the manager, all he did was offer me some fresh avocado slices, so we ended up taking them home, where we beefed them up with some tomato and enjoyed some good salsa. sorry, not going there again!
