They quoted me 75$ on the phone the price doubles when they came to my home to $155 I decided to just get the carpets done and not waste more time finding another company. This seems to be a common scam of theirs. They saturated my carpet with chemicals it was wet for 3 days and has horrible chemical mildew wet towel smell. I can not be in the room or home without having every window and door open -with fans on. It's made me have a headache become extremely nauseous. The carpet was cleaned on sat August 8th from 8am-9am it is now August 17th I'm having to replace all my carpeting the installer said the carpet is STILL WET under my dresser. CHEM DRY is supposed to use 80% less water be dry 1-3 hours whatever they did ruined my carpet created mold possibly (paying for testing on cArpet for court thru mold testing lab) horrible odor n made the carpet look as if it has water damage according to new carpet installer. On top of all this the owner refuses to refund my money he's extremely aggressive on the phone. He lied to me many times. I spoke w the same gentleman all week who said he would send his son over and called himself the owner. After I started asking for a refund n him to fix the carpet he started telling me he wasn't owner when I pressed for the owners name he finally told me Gary I said well I thought that was your name he lied and said "there's two Gary's" there is not two Gary's there's one Gary who answers the phone and is perpetuating fraud on many unhappy customers check online reviews out- they've had many problems in the last months. When I brought this to his attention he told me "I fired those employees they are gone" but yet he told my mom that employees worked there 17yrs. I can tell he uses this lie to others because on yelp another lady attributes bad reviews to "lazy employees" do not believe the lies. This is father son company- something has gone wrong and they are obviously not fixing it or taking credit for it the customer reviews prove this. They are continuing to ruin people's carpets and it is not right!! I had to pay 1000$ for new carpet I believe he should pay for this or half. Instead he refuses to even refund me my original $155 lies and is evading the situation - never ever use this company. Also their tech was extremely rude and insulting when I complained worst customer service I have EVER EXPERIENCED Horrible! These guys should be out of business I will never again use a company without checking reviews .

Ruined my carpets, don't use them. Won't stand by their work. Owner is unprofessional and hostile.

Tried to charge me twice the coupon price. Left my carpets soaking wet. I had to use towels to sop up the water. Do not use these guys.

Surf City Chem Dry did a great job for us. Very polite and proffessional. Got all of the stains out, reasonably priced, and my carpets dried in an hour! I would highly recommend them.

So I have been using these guys for the past 5 years now and I have never had any problems. I was looking up their phone number and I saw that they had a few bad reviews. I realize the only people that really make the effort sometimes to review are people that are truly upset. I had a similar experience with these guys, the first few times I cleaned my carpets it was never the coupon price but I expected that cause my carpets were dirty. The third time I used them they gave me a really good deal on my carpets and furniture that seemed to be less than the coupon prices. And now it is always the same price (the coupon price) I always count on. There are more things to a company than their price that I judge when I have a service done in my house. These guys are great at what they do, honest, I can trust them in my house, and they are fair to me. I feel bad that they are getting bad reviews and probably not getting all the good reviews to offset the bad ones. So here's mine! I'm calling them right now to book an appointment.

Chem-dry has a great reputation so when I moved into my new home I wanted to use them to clean my carpets.

I called and spoke with the owner about my carpets. I let him know the size and that the carpets were "heavily soiled'. He provided me a quote of $180 to perform the job. Before getting off the phone I again mentioned that the carpets were HEAVILY Soiled and that I needed a very deep cleaning. He again stated that this was the price for a deel cleaning of the carpets. I wasn't trying to use a coupon or promotion or anything. I just wanted to get the standard pricing.

I scheduled an appointment with him the day before my family was planning on moving into our new house. He showed up at my house and looked at the carpets. He told me that the price would be more than double the original estimate. That's just over $400. Ridiculous right. He said that he couldn't get the carpets clean without deep cleaning. I specifically told him the carpets were heavily soiled and needed deep cleaning. Not only that but I reiterated that fact.

When speaking with the owner, who was the one that came to my house and tried to upcharge me, he stated that he wouldn't do it for less and I was mistaken that I didn't tell him the carpets needed deep cleaning.

When I tried to talk with the owner about the situation he walked out of my house and told me to find someone else to clean the carpets.

This guy was a complete jerk. I was stuck without a carpet cleaning company with a day to get carpets cleaned and dry before my family was to move into our new house.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. BEWARE!!!



I ended up calling another company that did a great job on my carpets for just $159.
